Local Facilities

La Reserva de Marbella

The apartment is located within the La Reserva de Marbella development which includes a number of shops, supermarkets,  restaurants, bars and a bank all within a mile of the apartment.

We even have an excellent restaurant/bar and convenience store just a 2 minute walk from the apartment.

The Beach at Cabopino

The closest beach to the apartment is a 5-minute drive away at Cabopino ("Pine Cape”) where a large nature reserve with sand dunes and pine trees creates a wonderful backdrop. Parking is easy and close to the beach.

Cabopino is unlike anywhere else on the Costa Del Sol. Development has been strictly controlled and the tower blocks that are characteristic elsewhere along the coastline are noticeable by their absence. An old fortified watchtower "Torre Ladrones" still stands proudly by the sand dunes alongside the beach. From its privileged position it is possible to see all along the coast to Marbella and Gibraltar and Africa beyond, a spectacular backdrop to a spectacular beach..

Cabopino is well sheltered and protected from the elements, and artificial reefs on either side of the beach keep the waves and wind at bay. Lifeguards - on duty throughout the summer - combined with the beach's gentle slope into the sea, make Cabopino child-friendly and safe. Sunbed hire is available, the sand is well maintained, clean and of a superior quality to other beaches along the Costa del Sol, making Cabopino beach the ideal place for families.

There are several chiringitos (beachside bars and restaurants), where you can buy a drink, ice cream or sample superb seafood at very reasonable prices.

The Beach at Las Chapas

There is also a smaller area of beach the same distance from the apartment at Las Chapas where another chiringito affords an excellent view of the beautiful Mediterranean and is a great place to head for lunch or for sundowners to admire the glorious sunsets.

Puerto Cabopino

Puerto Cabopino (at one end of the beach) is a delightful, bijou marina - home to exclusive yachts as well as an exciting range of restaurants with fine cuisine from all over the globe. Traditional Spanish restaurants are supplemented by chic International eateries, ensuring all palates and budgets are catered for.

The many restaurants and bars are based in three main locations, chiringitos along the beach, a host of restaurants around the marina and a further selection around the square behind the harbour buildings.

Puerto Cabopino is a delightful place for lunch or a drink during the day, and in the evening its sophisticated atmosphere is hard to resist.

Other Local Activities

Golf - There are numerous golf courses along this stretch of the coast which is known as the Costa Del Golf. The closest are the 18-hole course at Cabopino and the 9-hole Artola Alta both within a mile of the apartment. The Santa Maria Golf & Country Club at Elviria is also close by.

Watersports - Jetskis and kayaks can be hired on the beach at Cabopino and waterskiing, fishing trips, scuba diving and dolphin watching excursions are also on offer.

Shopping - There is a great selection of shops and restaurants at the outdoor mall in Elviria as well as the famous La Cañada shopping centre about 7 miles away, which is the largest on the Costa del Sol and home to over 150 shops. La Cañada also has restaurants, hairdressers, ten pin bowling, an amusement arcade, multiplex cinema and a state of the art gymnasium.

Theme Parks -  There are plenty of activities for families in the local area such as Selwo Animal Park near Estepona, Tivoli World at Benalmadena and an Aquapark and Zoo at Fuengirola, all within a short drive of the apartment.

Marbella - Marbella is one of the Mediterranean's most glamorous towns, backed by the sierras of the coastal mountain range. Marbella’s historic quarter is delight with narrow, pedestrianised, cobbled streets opening onto shaded squares lined with orange trees, overlooked by flower-filled balconies. Historic churches are interspersed with bountiful shops and restaurants. There is also a Moorish Castle to admire. Closer to the beach are wide boulevards and tropical gardens. Marbella's nightlife is renowned and there are many excellent bars and clubs.

Puerto Banus - For sophistication, the aptly named "La Mila de Oro" (The Golden Mile) from Marbella to Puerto Banus ranks alongside the best spots on the French Riviera. The marina at Puerto Banus is the playground of the rich and famous and their yachts are surrounded by chic boutiques, bars and restaurants.

Further Afield - Malaga, Granada and Ronda all make excellent day trips.
